Since 2007, Werkstattmacher e.V. has been acting as a platform for young artists at LOFFT - DAS THEATER, supporting young artists on various levels and training producers and cultural managers in their voluntary work. The association is a continuous part of the program at LOFFT - DAS THEATER.
The workshop program is characterized by its open and experimental format. The focus is on concepts by up-and-coming Leipzig artists who can gain their first directing experience on stage or deepen their existing skills. The workshop makers are there to help them with any questions they may have, offering advice and experience. The workshop team supports the young artists with infrastructural, organizational and financial contributions and as dramaturgical accompaniment. The aim of the workshop is to support young artists, to give them a place to work, to prepare them for the working world as professional performing artists and thus to further develop Leipzig's independent art scene.
The work of Werkstattmacher e.V. in cooperation with LOFFT - DAS THEATER is supported by the City of Leipzig, Kulturamt Leipzig.
