Dramaturge, Producer
Language: German and English
Mirka Borchardt lives in Saarbrücken and focuses her work on the SaarLorLux region. Since 2020, she has been working as a dramaturge and producer in both institutional contexts and the independent scene, including at überzwerg – Theater am Kästnerplatz and in various independent collectives.
With HinterBühne GbR, she works as a dramaturge and producer on her own, often cross-border productions that use vacant buildings as venues. As co-initiator and part of the management team of FREISTIL_FESTIVAL – the festival of the independent scene in Saarland – she develops formats that highlight the diversity of the scene and strengthen exchange within the greater SaarLorLux region. In addition, she has been involved in projects such as the PLOPP . die freie Reihe event series, which has created new platforms for artistic encounters in Saarland.
As a board member of the Netzwerk Freie Szene Saar (Saarland Independent Scene Network), she contributes her cultural policy expertise, develops strategies for fair working conditions and represents the interests of the independent performing arts vis-à-vis politics and administration.
Her work focuses on the development of solidarity-based structures: forming partnerships, sharing resources, creating synergies, strengthening cultural policy oriented towards the common good, and reflecting critically on working methods. In addition, she is concerned with the compatibility of care and cultural work, as well as with cross-border work in artistic and cultural policy terms.
