Born in Höxter, Katrin Wiesemann studied Media and Cultural Studies, B.A., and Business Administration, B.Sc., at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.
After various directing internships and assistantships at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus, including with Jürgen Gosch, Karin Henkel and Adam Nalepa, she worked at the Düsseldorf cultural festival "altstadtherbst", at European Film Promotion in Hamburg, in sustainability management for the insurer Provinzial Rheinland and the event agency passepartout GmbH.
Back at the theater, she supported opera director Wolf Widder and acting director Murat Yeginer at Theater Pforzheim as an assistant to the artistic director, then moved to Theater Konstanz under Prof. Dr. Christoph Nix as a consultant to the artistic director, after which she accompanied the new team around Florian Fiedler as a consultant to the artistic director at Theater Oberhausen for a year. In 2020, she started her own business as a freelance production manager, overseeing performing arts projects in the independent scene.
Since 2021, she has also been working part-time at Béla Bisom's transmissions GmbH, where she also oversees independent groups and festivals.
