We are shocked, appalled and stunned by the current developments and decisions on cultural funding for 2025, especially the drastic cuts for the independent performing arts. And this at both federal and state level. From the possible cutback scenarios at federal level - which we already publicly expressed our displeasure about in August 2024 - actual cutback realities already emerged that not only mean a percentage shrinkage, but also put an end to the future of entire networks, foundations and institutions.
As a network, we at produktionsbande do not know how to react to this situation. The only thing we do know is this: We need exchange - from and for colleagues. We therefore cordially invite you to an open discussion space in which we can express our fears, anxieties and perspectives and share thoughts that concern us with a view to working in the independent performing arts from 2025. Together is better!
